Missionary Moments October 12, 2014

We just returned from assisting Elder Higham (High-um) and Elder Harris. They asked us to accompany them to teach Sonja Martin, an investigator from Jamaica. We loved it! We each were asked to bear our testimony about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon. It was great to be proselyting 'missionaries for a day'!

These two elders are the Assistants to the President. They live in the flat just above the Self-Reliance Centre. We hear them jumping around up there from time to time when they do their exercising - our light fixtures start to rattle. They picked us up in the mission van one day when it was raining and we were without a car. They're great young men - we hobnob with them in the office now and again.

They're unspoiled Idaho boys so they eat anything we feed them!

Pull the handle to punch the holes.
Insert the coil into the coil thingamajig.
Add the punched booklet & presto! It's magic!
Is it an alien from outer space? NO! Is it a giant fly? NO! It's Sister Special!
She's so proud of driving a car with the steering wheel on the wrong side.
Round trip to Asda! Must have been at least 5 miles!
This is Super Dean, the fearless man who sat calmly in the car next to her.

It must be Halloween if there is a giant bat in Asda.
And to the right of the bat is Ali Baba, also in costume.

The Beatles Story in Liverpool September 28th

Elder and Sister Lee
After sacrament meeting, we travelled over to Liverpool with the Lees. We saw some of the docks where the early church members sailed for America. We want to return when we're better educated about which of the miles and miles of docks were the historic places where the British Saints embarked for America and Zion.

Near the docks, there was a museum called The Beatles Story.  Here are a few photos of the world famous quartet...Love Love Me Do! You Know I Love You! So pleeeeaaasseee Love Me Do!(1962)

Paul, George, John and Ringo were the famous four.
Do your research to see if this is the famous four or the first four.
Skinny Pants...they were around way back in the 60s.

The girls went crazy, screaming and swooning.
They created a hysterical sideshow.

One of the Beatles was married and had a baby at home.
His wife was astonished at the hysteria.

Manchester United, dedicated to: Mark, Linh, Noah, Luke and Jett

Manchester United Football Club is an English professional football club, based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester that plays in the Premier League. Founded as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878, the club changed its name to Manchester United in 1902 and moved to Old Trafford in 1910 and is one of the most successful clubs in English football.

In the UK, soccer is known as football. This quote reminds us of our "football" family in Kaysville!
