Althorp in Northampton Jan 31, 2015

On the 31st of January, Elder and Sister Jolley traveled a few hours from Birmingham to help with a Work Choice Profile activity for the YSA in Northampton. Elder and Sister Theiss are the missionaries who work with them and they called on the Baxters to help out. The Baxters called on us for more backup. 15 YSA were scheduled to fill out the assessment. The WCP is a fun activity that helps identify interests and attitudes that indicate an aptitude for specific vocations. It's a way to have the young people talk about themselves and discover some hidden talents and ideas for future careers.

After the testing, we followed the Theiss' home to their flat where the sisters visited while the elders went for takeout fish and chips. While we were eating lunch, Elder and Sister Theiss mentioned that Althorp, the childhood home of Diana Spencer, aka Lady Diana, aka Princess of Wales, was really close by. We all got into our cars and drove over for a few photos.

Althorp, the home of the Spencer family for 500 years. This was the childhood home of (Princess) Diana of Wales.
There's a lake on the property and an island in the middle of the lake where Lady Diana is buried.

The perfect Halloween tree

The Front Gate at Althorp. Elder Jolley has the perfect haircut for this windy weather!                                                      There are certain times of the year when the home is open to the public for tours.

Old cemetery near Althorp. We didn't have the opportunity to look for the Spencer family.                                                 Sister Jolley would have loved a walk through the cemetery but we hadn't brought our winter boots.
