Salisbury Cathedral is an international symbol of Christianity and home to Magna Carta.
It boasts the tallest church spire in England. The spire weighs 6500 tons.

It took 38 years to build the Cathedral, using 60,000 tons of stone, 2800 tons of oak and 420 tons of lead.

One of four original copies of the Magna Carta (1215)

The Magna Carta stressed that everyone, including the King, had to treat people fairly and no one was above the law. It contains clauses on social justice that are pertinent today as well as when it was first written. The Magna Carta has inspired the UN Declaration of Human Rights, American Bill of Rights and the constitutions of many other countries.

The Cathedral houses elaborate tombs belonging to kings, bishops and patrons.
